DETOURS: AA2A Exhibition opens next week

WIMBLEDON space welcomes this years’ AA2A artists, as they begin to install work developed during their time at the colleges over the last 6 months. DETOURS is curated by MA Curating students, and looks set to showcase an exciting array of work spanning painting,  sculpture, photography, drawing, print and video.

The exhibition opens next week on Wednesday 2nd May, 5 – 8pm, so please come and enjoy the exhibition, and join the artists and curators for a celebratory drink.

MA CURATING students from Chelsea are installing an exciting exhibition at WIMBLEDON space to coincide with the national switch-over from analogue to digital.

It’s open for a week only so be sure not to miss it! And do come along to the opening event on Wednesday 18th April, 5 – 8pm, and join us for a glass of wine and an evening of specially commissioned performance.

PERFECT NUDES on show at WIMBLEDON space

More than 350 people attended the opening of THE PERFECT NUDE last week. The exhibition of 106 perfect (and imperfect!) nudes, continues Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm until Friday 10th February.

First entry in your new 2012 diaries? 12th January, 5 – 8pm is the Opening Event for this exciting exhibition curated by Dan Coombs & Phil Allen. Over 100 artists take part in this aesthetic experiment presenting a range of responses to the subject of the nude.

FdA Production for Live Events and Television students have also organised this ‘Fashion for Freedom’ event in aid of MAP – a charity which provides medical aid for Palestinians.

Wimbledon Space: Difference

 

Difference: Contrasts, Distinction, Variances, Variations, Divegence, Deviation,

A collection of work produced by the designers, artists and practitioners who deliver the Theatre and Screen programmes at Wimbledon College of Art.

Critical reflection on practice is an essential part of the process of creative work in the Theatre and Screen Industries.

This exhibition of over thirty professional practitioners , full time and part time tutors together with technical staff, shows the broad range of practices and the richness of experience that underpins the teaching in Theatre and Screen at Wimbledon College of Art.

Opening Event: Thursday 29 September 2011, 5-8pm

Wimbledon book festival: Leonardo da Vinci

This autumn sees the first public viewing  of Salvator Mundi as part of the National Gallery’s Leonardo da Vinci exhibtion.  Martin Kemp, the world-renowned art expert and one of the expert authenticators of the newly discovered painting will take us through the great artist’s career at Wimbledon College of Art.

Martin Kemp is also the author of Leonardo and Chirst to Coke: How Images become Icons.
